A Taste of Greece in Fairmount: IOS Resto Bar Review

If you’re looking for a vibrant, flavorful, and stylish spot in Philadelphia’s Fairmount neighborhood, IOS Resto Bar is an absolute must-visit. This modern Greek cuisine and bar delivers an unforgettable dining experience, blending authentic Mediterranean flavors with a lively atmosphere that makes for the perfect night out.

From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by warm, inviting decor, an energetic yet cozy ambiance, and a bustling bar scene that sets the tone for a fantastic meal. The cocktail menu is a standout, and I kicked off the night with two incredible Greek Tragedy cocktails—a perfectly balanced mix of fig-infused bourbon, Amaro, and citrus that was both bold and refreshing.

For my meal, I started with the Beet Salad, which was nothing short of phenomenal. The combination of roasted beets, creamy whipped feta, pistachios, and a tangy balsamic glaze created a perfect harmony of flavors. The texture contrast between the crunchy pistachios and smooth feta made every bite even more enjoyable.

Other menu highlights that caught my eye:

  • Octopus Sti Skara – Grilled octopus with a fava bean purée and caper vinaigrette, a must-try for seafood lovers.
  • Spanakopita Spring Rolls – A fun and crispy take on the traditional spinach and feta pie.
  • Lamb Chops – Char-grilled and served with tzatziki, the perfect option for meat lovers.
  • Moussaka – A comforting, layered dish of eggplant, beef, and béchamel, bringing a true taste of Greece to Fairmount.

The service was fantastic, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who were happy to make recommendations and keep the energy high. The only downside? Parking can be a challenge on a busy night, so I highly recommend using the public lot near Eastern State Penitentiary to avoid circling for street parking.

Whether you’re in the mood for a fun night out with friends, a date night, or just a great meal with killer cocktails, IOS Resto Bar delivers in every way. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu—there’s no doubt that this place is one of Fairmount’s best-kept secrets!
